The9 is like some weird Chinese EA or something. NCsoft announced April 5th, that it signed a deal with The9 to launch Guild Wars in China, giving the company a 3-year exclusive license for the country.
According to Tack Jin Kim, NCSoft CEO, "the9 has a proven record of excellence in the Chinese market as a leading online game operator."
Guild Wars is currently available in the region, Guild Wars Korea, Japan and Taiwan. Most Hong Kong Guild Wars players are either playing in the Taiwan region or the North American region. NCsoft is in partnership with country distributors in South-East Asia, AMDG in the Philippines and P2P Pte Ltd. in Singapore.
